Arvvas

Raknes with his rasp voice and innovative curvature on his double bass is an orchestra in itself and paired up with Gaup's traditional and innovative joik, Arvvas' music melts naturally together, like two rivers that meet.

In the duo Arvvas, Steinar Raknes and Sara Marielle Gaup meet up in a musical mixture of Joik and Americana, while creating new music filled with energy!

Raknes, with his raspy voice and innovative curvature on his double bass, is an orchestra by himself. Paired up with Gaup's traditional and innovative Joik, Arvvas' music melts naturally together – like two rivers that meet.

The music is beautiful, stripped down and melodic, while also being spontaneous and playful at the same time. The two musicians complement each other through their contradictions – like fire and ice they create balance, and as heat and cold they create lightning and thunder.

Sara Marielle Gaup – joik, vocals / Steinar Raknes – double bass, vocals
