Volunteers
Now you can apply to be a volunteer at Moldejazz!
Moldejazz started in 1961 as a small weekend-festival and has since then grown to become a large festival. From our day-to-day administration of approximately six people, we employ close to 800 people during the festival week.
Being a volunteer during Moldejazz is a lovely combination of good musical experiences, new friendships and – at times – hard work in a hectic but inspiring setting. We welcome prominent international and national artists, and as many as 80.000 to 100.000 people visit the town of Molde during the week. With this much going on, we are highly dependent on the tremendous efforts our volunteers put in. However, despite the number of work-hours, every one of you should also find time to enjoy the festival.
What can you expect from us?
Moldejazz commits to welcome you and provide the necessary training you require to do your job. We will give you a suitable amount of work, ensuring that you have enough time to enjoy your volunteer benefits. As a volunteer, Moldejazz will pay for your insurance through our policy, and we further commit to ensure that all work is in adherence to Norway's strict Working Environment Act.
What does Moldejazz expect of you?
As a volunteer, you represent Moldejazz when interacting with artists, sponsors, press, audiences and the public. The festival is renowned for being one of the most intimate and friendly festivals in the world and this is the reputation that you will contribute to maintaining. We expect you to behave as a good representative and that you leave your mark on the festival in a positive manner. With a crew this large, it is very important that everyone adheres to their work instructions and show up to assigned shifts. Even if this is unpaid, volunteer work, we ask that you respect your head of committee/supervisor, as you would in a regular job.
